Bin Laden deleted as facebook friend
Al Qaeda leader had 1,000 fans
FACEBOOK has disabled an account on the social networking site under the name os Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, which posted extremist Islamic content on its page.
Bin Laden had garnered over 1,000 "fans" before the page was pulled from the web site.
"People often attempt to register fake accounts under the name of famous or infamous people and we have a number of thechincal measures designed to prevent this behavior", said facebook spokes-man Andrew Noyes.
"Sometimes these fakes do get through, but there is no evidence to suggest that the account in question or the other dozens of people whi have tried to present themselves as Osama Bin Laden have any relation to the terrorist", he said.
The account was disabled by facebook over the weekend. The page included posts of speeches and audio recordings of Islamic extremists, which were produced by Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Sahab Media Group, according to reports in the US.
The page referred to Bin Laden as the "Prince of Mujahideen".
It also put Bin Laden's location as the "mountains of the world", reports said, quoting Arabic language news site Elaph.

Maybe I will make a comment or two

Of course we are talking about facebook that comes from the US -i guess?- and is like the archi enemy of these people. But since it is a global social network, shouldn't all political/religious "user accounts" be banned? Is this not discrimination? I guess not considering the war issues +++ but still, there are so many other "groups" that gather in this network and are enemies of the humanity...  But I guess that most coming from places that feed and entertain, in a way or another, "motherland USA" they don't really bother. (no offense please to my fellow american friends! I had the best time of my life there and met great loving people, but us, normal mortals are not politics, though politics are not without us, true. but still one thing is one thing and another thing is another thing)
Astonishing though to see THIS is the news in my local paper. That's what shocked me the most and got me thinking, of course... I mean, there's aircrafts with presidents falling down, ashes blowing around the world (and 1/3 of a huge local company stopped because of this -only here and to say the least), there are towns disappearing, washed away by rain or earthquakes and people in need of help ...  but THIS is the news!
Does the superpowerful almighty omnipresent entity under whichever name you wanna name IT really exist?
